Unplugged

For the past two days, I had no access to the Internet. I was literally unplugged. Hubby came home last Tuesday night and announced he was selling my laptop. I was unaware that it was even on the market!

In fairness to Hubby, he did have the best intentions in mind. And it was a great idea to sell my handy-dandy, ever loyal Dell laptop now so that I could upgrade. Yahoo!

The sad part was he had to take the laptop the next day, leaving me computer-less until the weekend. For a new blogger like me, that seemed like eternity plus a day!

So I woke up Wednesday morning and did my usual morning routine. Kuya was out the door my 7am. Kowi and I had breakfast at 7:30ish. I washed, swept, dusted, fixed, and arranged. Then I went into the Yellow Room, which was our study area, computer room and all-around-do-it-youtself place, and the table was laptop-less.

Oh well. I made a mental list of the things I'd do to fill up the blogging void. There were a few chores that I had put off for an uncertain date. Maybe I should start doing some of them, like finally fix the attic and sort things for my long overdue garage sale. I sat down on the chair and faced the empty table and sighed. Withdrawal symptoms? LOL

Several good things came out from being unplugged. One is that I finished The Five People You Meet in Heaven. I cried. Kowi and I did a little beading. Well, she mostly did the beading and I was in charge of getting the beads that fell. I also did a little House marathon, starting from Season 1. The plastic bottles that we have around the house are now neatly sorted and stored for recycling. Oh,and I also moved several furniture pieces around. I'll tackle the attic next time. It's too daunting a task for me to do alone.

Now, what's a little unplugging every now and then eh? Well, at least not for too long.

And baby makes eight

Angelina Jolie gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, last Saturday as confirmed by their doctor at a hospital in Nice, France. Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline were delivered via C-section. And proud daddy, Brad Pitt, was said to be in the operating room the whole time and very emotional. Awww!

Reporters, paparazzi, camera crews, even locals and touriss are apparently waiting outside the hospital, everyone eager to snap a photograph of the much-awaited Brangelina twins. But exclusive first photographs have been sold to People Magazine for a reported $11 million. All of it will go to charity.

Brad and Angelina are already parents to Shiloh, Pax, Maddox and Zahara. With the twins, Brad and Angelina have their hands full.

Apparently, Angelina will be staying in the hospital for a few more days before going home to their rented chateau.

Congratulations, Brad and Angelina. I suggest you get at much zzz'a as you can at the hospital. Once you get home to your brood of six, sleep will be just a memory.

Spooked

A predicition by a certain Juseelino Nobrega Daroose has been circulating via email these past couple of months foretelling of an 8.1 magnitude earthquake in the Philippines, killing thousands. Yes, I have recieved that email. I think it was sent to me five times since April and I just laughed it off.

I found it really funny. Why? First of all, the content was really difficult to understand. The English was terrible. Secondly, Juseelino Nobrega Daroose is a non-name. I Googled it and his real name is Jucelino Nobrega Da Luz, a Brazilian psychic-slash-teacher. Lastly, Mr. Da Luz is seeking a $25-million reward for finding Saddam Hussein through his "psychic" ability. That is quite hilarious, isn't it?

But the series of earthquakes that have occured during the past week has got me a little paranoid. Spooked, actually. This time I'm not laughing.

Yes, it is a hoax. Mr. Da Luz didn't even mention the Philippines in his list of predictions for 2008. Even the PHIVOLCS claims that the email is bogus and that no one can predict when an earthquake will occur.

Is is an uncanny coincidence that the Inquirer headline about the the email being bogus was published the day a 5.4 magnitude earthquake? Hmmm...

Yes, I am paranoid. Paranoid and a little bit spooked because I just happen to live right along the fault line. Who wouldn't be?

McDonald's Fun Day

For peeps who live South of the Metro like I do.

McDonald's SM Muntinlupa is having a Fun Day. A day of fun, arts and crafts for your kids. There might even be a meet and greet Ronald McDonald.

The fee is Php100.00 per child, which includes a Happy Meal.

It'll be on Sunday, July 20, 2008 at the SM Muntinlupa Activity Center from 3-5 pm.

Hope to see you there.

I missed it!

There are only a few shows from the Kapamilya Network that I watch. The Singing Bee is one of them. I'm not really a fan of telenovelas, koreanovelas and the news and current events shows.

But there was one documentary that I was looking forward to the whole week, KIDNAP. The show was about Ces Drilon, her crew and their nine days with the Abu Sayaf.

Yesteday, we went to visit the in-laws early in the morning. It was a last minute decision and I had to leave a few chores unattended.

Of course, the kids were running around at my in-laws' place. And I was the designated parent overall in charge of the mess. After lunch, Hubby went AWOL on me. Later on I found out he was across the street catching up with his childhood buddy who just got back from the States.

We got home at around 4pm. I had the morning chores to do plus cook dinner for us. I didn't even have time to watch The Buzz. By nightfall, I was tired.

I woke up today at 4am to say good-bye to Hubby before he left. I went with him to the front door and saw him off. As I putting my head on the pillow, I realized I missed it. I missed KIDNAP! That realization kept me awake until Kuya woke up at 6am.

Interrogate Me, Monday!
